Humanitarian functions: Our different activities relating to human welfare assistances to needy have made us foremost in the lines. We provide the spectacles free of charge to the needy people after eye operation, and wheel chairs/ cruches /tricycles etc. to the needy people / disabled persons. We have the privilege of giving the medicines to the needy directly and also through the outlets at Medical College and Taluk Headquarters hospitals. Junior Red Cross: To promote the noble ideas of Red Cross among the Junior Citizens, and to make them aware of the duties and responsibilities of a citizen. In Kerala there’re many Junior Red Cross Units in different schools with a membership of thousands of students. Under banner of JRC/YRC the District Branch conducted the various units in the colleges of Thrissur. Monthly seminars also were conducted against Drug Abuse. First Aid Boxes were distributed in the schools and formed Red Cross Emergency Force in the district. Youth Red Cross: Our branch is having a very popular and active Youth Red Cross Wing. The students from various colleges of Thrissur are the members of this Youth Wing organized by Red Cross Thrissur and they are actively participating in the programmes. Professors and student members of these colleges are actively participating in the programme sponsored by Red Cross from time to time. Child Development Clinic: The joint venture of Red Cross Society and Paediatric department of Medical College of Thrissur is functioning actively. The Medical Officers of the Paediatric Department and the Nursing Staff of the family welfare Clinic were rendering valuable services. The Child Development Therapist appointed by the Branch on casual basis was helpful in providing special care for the handicapped children. Hundreds of children were benefited by free immunization programmes of the clinic. Awareness Programme: Under the joint auspicious of clubs, Co operative socities awareness programme were conducted the following subjects Eye Donation, Blood Donation, HIV/AID, Diabetic etc. And also conducted the awareness programmes in the colleges and  schools in Thrissur. Eye Camp: In continuation to the programme launched during the previous year, eye camps have been conducted in each month at various places. A good number of cataract patients were the good beneficiaries of the camp.
